Album Notes & Community Reviews

Crucially pioneering the highly rhythmic, groove-oriented subgenre of slam death metal, Internal Bleeding's debut 'Voracious Contempt' completely eschews traditional guitar solos and atmospheric speed. The New York quintet relies almost entirely on brutally slow, palm-muted breakdowns and heavily hip-hop-influenced percussive bounce to bludgeon the listener. This extreme focus on mid-paced, rhythmic aggression heavily influenced an entire generation of modern brutal death metal.
