Serving as the final album with vocalist Paul Menel, IQ made a highly controversial attempt to streamline their complex neo-prog sound for broader commercial appeal. The record relies heavily on polished, radio-friendly pop-rock choruses and glossy synthesizers, abandoning much of the darker, theatrical eccentricity of their earlier work. While yielding the minor hit 'Drive On', the stylistic shift alienated their core progressive fanbase.
