Album Notes & Community Reviews
Making their debut on the legendary Impulse! label, the free jazz collective鈥攆ronted by poet Moor Mother鈥攄elivers a remarkably focused and vibrant session. 'Protect Your Light' weaves explosive brass improvisation with deep, danceable grooves and fierce, politically charged spoken-word performances. The record successfully maintains their avant-garde edge while offering an overarching message of resilience and spiritual joy.
