Album Notes & Community Reviews

The explosive free-jazz collective, fronted by the uncompromising poetry of Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother), delivers a profoundly urgent follow-up to their 2017 debut. Recorded entirely in a single day, the album relies on frenetic, improvisational brass and driving contrabass to underscore Ayewa's searing critiques of police brutality and American colonialism. It stands as a vital, visceral intersection of radical protest politics and spiritual jazz.
