Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Oceanic' is a landmark release in the post-metal genre, fusing the crushing weight of atmospheric sludge metal with the sprawling, dynamic structures of post-rock. Isis constructs dense, aquatic-themed compositions that shift seamlessly from hypnotic ambient passages to aggressive, heavy crescendos. It remains a definitive and highly influential concept album.
