Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the success of his debut, the pioneer of the 'Tulsa Sound' returned with another masterclass in laid-back, effortlessly groovy roots rock. Utilizing a massive cast of session musicians, the arrangements remain incredibly sparse, anchored by Cale's whispered vocals and exceptionally fluid, muted guitar lines. It is a supremely mellow and highly influential blueprint for swampy, country-blues fusion.
