Album Notes & Community Reviews

Culled from two distinct recording dates in 1957, this release showcases the rapidly maturing alto saxophone style of Jackie McLean just prior to his pivotal Blue Note era. The album pairs a sprawling, side-long blues jam with shorter, tightly arranged bop cuts that feature the formidable trumpet work of Webster Young.
