Album Notes & Community Reviews
Driven by Jackie McLean's slightly sharp, piercing alto saxophone tone, this Blue Note session features a ferocious front line with trumpeter Freddie Hubbard. The album is a definitive hard bop document, pushing deep, relentless blues progressions to their absolute energetic limits via muscular, highly technical solos.
