Du Pr茅's breakthrough recording of the Cello Concerto, made with the London Symphony Orchestra under John Barbirolli when she was twenty, shares the album with Baker's account of the Sea Pictures. The Sea Pictures was recorded at Abbey Road Studio No. 1, and the pairing fixed both performances at the centre of the Elgar discography.
