Before their eventual massive success in the 1990s, the Manchester group debuted with a tightly wound, anxiety-ridden indie-pop collection. The jangly acoustic guitars and Tim Booth's highly idiosyncratic vocal delivery provide an incredibly frantic, rhythmic interpretation of the C86 aesthetic.
