Album Notes & Community Reviews

The enigmatic Swedish crooner continues his sophisticated exploration of deeply melancholic, electronically tinged pop music. 'Poison' incorporates distinct elements of 1990s trip-hop, utilizing cinematic string samples and slow, shuffling drum loops to accompany his distinctive, vibrato-heavy vocal delivery. The album achieved widespread European success, establishing Johanson as a premier architect of sophisticated, jazz-inflected downtempo.
