Album Notes & Community Reviews

Before cementing their status as progressive rock titans, Jethro Tull debuted with a heavily jazz-inflected, riff-driven blues-rock album under the creative influence of guitarist Mick Abrahams. 'This Was' is wonderfully warm and intensely melodic, pairing deeply pastoral, highly quirky acoustic folk flourishes with heavy, slightly psychedelic blues-rock.
