Album Notes & Community Reviews

Blake Schwarzenbach continues to move away from the aggressive punk rock of Jawbreaker, leading his new quartet toward a significantly more melodic, piano-driven indie rock sound. 'Four Cornered Night' heavily features vintage keyboard textures and emphasizes polished, mid-tempo song structures. The album alienated some of his earlier fanbase while successfully establishing the band's identity as sophisticated alternative rock songwriters.
