Formed by Tim Kinsella following the dissolution of the hugely influential Cap'n Jazz, this debut wildly subverts traditional emo-punk expectations. By integrating acoustic introspection, subtle electronic manipulation, and abstract, sprawling post-rock structures, the Chicago ensemble boldly expanded the creative boundaries of the late-90s midwestern underground.
