Album Notes & Community Reviews
On their debut 'I Love You Jennifer B', Jockstrap merges Georgia Ellery's classic songwriting and intimate vocals with Taylor Skye's unpredictable, genre-defying production that swings between lush orchestral arrangements and chaotic, glitchy electronica. The album's ambitious sound palette, which touches on everything from abstract techno to gentle folk, provides a dynamic backdrop for lyrical themes of anxiety, desire, and coming of age. This synthesis of baroque pop and dubstep-influenced experimentation earned the album widespread critical acclaim and a nomination for the 2023 Mercury Prize.
