The Ballad of John Henry

Album Notes & Community Reviews

This seventh studio album finds the contemporary guitar virtuoso leaning heavily into muscular, heavily orchestrated blues-rock arrangements. Anchored by the thundering, swampy title track, the record expands his traditional power-trio format with the inclusion of a horn section and strings. It marked a significant commercial breakthrough, scoring high placements on the Billboard charts.
