Double Concerto in D minor

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the intricate contrapuntal dialogue of the baroque masterpiece, this early recording pairs formidable violinists Joseph Szigeti and Carl Flesch. The sweeping, heavily romanticized performance practice of the era presents a fascinating contrast to the leaner historical interpretations that would emerge decades later. It remains an essential document of pre-war violin mastery.
