Album Notes & Community Reviews

Guitarist John Abercrombie's debut as a leader is a powerful and dynamic entry in the ECM catalog. While it features the atmospheric and spacious production the label is known for, the album is also a high-energy fusion workout. The trio of Abercrombie, Mahavishnu Orchestra keyboardist Jan Hammer, and drummer Jack DeJohnette is a powerhouse, blending the ECM aesthetic with a more aggressive, rock-influenced sound. It's a key document of the organ trio format in a modern, fusion context.
