Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing a temporary halt to his solo rock output, this highly polished record finds the former Velvet Underground multi-instrumentalist embracing contemporary mid-80s production techniques. 'Artificial Intelligence' heavily features pristine synthesizers and rigid drum programming, framing Cale's distinctively eerie baritone within a darkly commercial synthpop context. The slick, detached atmosphere stands in stark contrast to the abrasive noise of his earlier decades.
