Album Notes & Community Reviews

Proving fiercely resistant to nostalgia in his advanced career, the Velvet Underground co-founder embraces thoroughly modern, glitch-heavy electronic production on this release. The album famously features a significant collaboration with Danger Mouse, resulting in surprisingly funky, synth-driven grooves paired with Cale's unmistakably dry, commanding vocal delivery. Thematically, it navigates a paranoid, surrealist vision of contemporary urban society.
