Album Notes & Community Reviews

In a severe departure from his previous vocal pop efforts, the former Velvet Underground multi-instrumentalist delivered a stark, largely instrumental exploration of European modern classical music. Featuring contributions from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and utilizing everything from repetitive piano motifs to spoken word passages, the record is aggressively avant-garde. The cover artwork notably features design work by Andy Warhol.
