Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pivoting away from his purely acoustic country blues origins, 'So Many Roads' finds John Hammond fully plugged in alongside a phenomenal electric backing band. Featuring incredibly raw, muscular guitar work from Robbie Robertson (prior to his fame with The Band), the album helped legitimize the heavy, electrified Chicago blues sound for the emerging American folk-rock audience. It is an often-overlooked milestone of the 1960s blues revival.
