Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Vee-Jay Records, 'The Folk Lore of John Lee Hooker' presented the electric blues musician in a largely acoustic, solo context to appeal to the burgeoning folk revival audience. The tracks document his idiosyncratic, unstructured boogie style and feature narrative, spoken-word interludes about his Mississippi origins.
