Album Notes & Community Reviews

The prolific avant-garde composer presents a remarkably gentle and accessible set of acoustic jazz pieces, serving as a heartfelt tribute to the Bay Area musicians of the 1960s. Performed by a piano trio consisting of Rob Burger, Greg Cohen, and Ben Perowsky, the compositions are lyrical, highly melodic, and pleasantly unchallenging. It stands out in Zorn's vast catalog for its pure, unadulterated melodic beauty.
