Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Baphomet' is a single, 40-minute composition realized by John Zorn鈥檚 Simulacrum trio, featuring John Medeski on organ, Matt Hollenberg on guitar, and Kenny Grohowski on drums. The instrumental work navigates a dense fusion of avant-metal, jazz improvisation, and funk, marked by complex structures and virtuosic musicianship. The piece shifts through stark dynamic changes, juxtaposing passages of intense, distorted riffs against cleaner, atmospheric sections.
