Album Notes & Community Reviews

Inspired heavily by the vocal compositions of Arnold Schoenberg, the prolific avant-garde composer delivers a terrifyingly complex, entirely atonal chamber piece. The incredibly demanding score features a soprano navigating violently shifting dynamics and erratic instrumental outbursts, perfectly capturing a deeply expressionist, psychological unease. It is widely considered one of his most rigorous and formally challenging works within contemporary classical music.
