Album Notes & Community Reviews

'The Book Beri'ah' serves as the final installment of John Zorn's 25-year Masada project, presenting 92 compositions collected in a sweeping eleven-disc box set. The project's core concept features eleven different ensembles interpreting the compositions, which are all based on Jewish scales, resulting in a dramatic stylistic breadth. This diverse roster of performers explores the material through genres ranging from avant-garde jazz and experimental metal to acoustic duets and big band arrangements, acting as a definitive capstone that showcases the compositional adaptability of Zorn's 'Radical Jewish Culture'.
