Album Notes & Community Reviews

Dedicated to the renowned Taiwanese actress, this release revives the frenetic, game-piece methodology of Zorn's legendary Cobra project. 'Xu Feng' utilizes highly structured cues to direct an ensemble of elite avant-garde improvisers through wildly chaotic, rapidly shifting blocks of noise and jazz. The resulting recording is a manic, technically astonishing display of collective, instantaneous composition.
