Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during his brief hiatus from the Duke Ellington organization, the alto saxophonist leads an immensely powerful, rhythm-and-blues-tinged big band. Anchored by the massive crossover success of the title track, the robust orchestrations highlight a harder, more aggressive edge to his typically sweet, romantic playing style.
