Keeping Up

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The second release from the highly underrated British outfit dramatically expands upon their King Crimson-indebted sound, introducing complex Mellotron arrangements and lush string sections orchestrated by Ray Russell. The compositions frequently balance aggressive, jazz-inflected brass sections against incredibly delicate, melancholic acoustic passages. It is widely considered their magnum opus, representing a remarkably sophisticated and dynamic approach to 1970s symphonic rock.
