Album Notes & Community Reviews
This album was a major event, pairing the breakout young star of the neo-bop movement, Joshua Redman, with a legendary, multi-generational band. The quartet, featuring Ornette Coleman's rhythm section of Charlie Haden and Billy Higgins alongside guitar giant Pat Metheny, has an incredible sense of interplay and deep swing. The music is soulful, blues-drenched, and joyous, perfectly bridging the gap between the established masters and the new generation of players.
