Album Notes & Community Reviews

Departing from the moody, heavily orchestrated ballads that defined her solo career, the quintessential cool jazz vocalist delivers a vibrant, swinging set backed by a smaller, brass-heavy ensemble. Her incredibly precise pitch and subtle, horn-like phrasing easily ride over the robust arrangements provided by Bob Cooper. The album brilliantly highlights her formidable capability as a driving, rhythmic jazz singer.
