Album Notes & Community Reviews
Utilizing the sweeping, highly impressionistic orchestrations of Pete Rugolo, the celebrated vocalist delivers one of her most beautifully melancholic and technically sophisticated albums. Her characteristically cool, slightly husky timbre perfectly matches the intensely moody, late-night atmosphere of the intricate string and brass arrangements. The impeccably produced record remains a definitive, flawless masterpiece of mid-century adult-contemporary vocal jazz.
