Weighted Room

On 'Weighted Room', K. Leimer constructs each track from multiple generations and arrangements of the same source material, repeatedly converting audio to MIDI and back to create a wide stylistic range. The album spans ambient, dark ambient, new jazz, and noise, unified by a process of iterative composition where pieces were layered and processed from their various evolutionary stages. This method inverts traditional instrumental roles, often obscuring evolving, granular atmospheres with a more melodic sensibility to draw focus toward the buried textures.
