Descendants of Cain

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Descendants of Cain' uses the biblical story of Cain and Abel as an allegory for street life, inherited trauma, and survival in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Ka's lyricism is delivered in his signature hushed, monotone flow, creating a narrative of stark realism and poetic reflection. The production, primarily handled by Ka, is characteristically minimalist and often drumless, using looped, atmospheric samples from soul and film to create a solemn backdrop that places the focus entirely on his dense, intricate storytelling.
