Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following extensive lineup changes, the David Lindley-led pioneers of world-music fusion pivoted toward a heavier, more straightforward roots rock aesthetic on their fourth LP. The album dials back the Turkish and Middle Eastern instrumentation that defined their earlier masterpieces, replacing it with driving electric guitars and country-rock twang. Despite moments of brilliance, the band ultimately folded under the weight of commercial indifference shortly after.
