Biography
Kaleidoscope were an American psychedelic folk-rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1966 by David Lindley, Solomon Feldthouse, Chester Crill, Chris Darrow and John Vidican. Their four #Epic Records# albums, 'Side Trips', 'A Beacon from Mars', 'Incredible! Kaleidoscope' and 'Bernice', mixed American folk, country and blues with Middle Eastern and raga influences, making them pioneers of world-music fusion in rock. The band split in 1970 and later reunited for albums in 1976 and 1991. This entry covers the American band only, not the unrelated British Kaleidoscope.
