Album Notes & Community Reviews

This landmark recording session marks the formal birth of Jarrett's legendary 'Standards Trio'. Defying the prevailing trends of complex original composition, the trio breathes profoundly fresh, improvisational life into the Great American Songbook. The telepathic interplay between Jarrett, Peacock, and DeJohnette set a new benchmark for modern acoustic jazz performance that defined the remainder of their careers.
