Album Notes & Community Reviews

Culled from the same legendary 1983 recording session that produced their debut, this album firmly established the "Standards Trio" as one of the most significant piano trios in modern jazz history. Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, and Jack DeJohnette completely revitalize well-worn selections from the Great American Songbook through intense, telepathic group improvisation. The pristine ECM engineering beautifully captures the profound lyrical sensitivity and dynamic interplay of the ensemble.
