The Room Extended

On the sprawling four-disc work 'The Room Extended', pioneer of electroacoustic improvisation Keith Rowe constructs a deeply personal sound world from compositions assembled between 2013 and 2016. The piece is built upon densely layered tracks of tabletop guitar, electronics, and radio static, where abrupt, harsh textures are juxtaposed with periods of intense silence. Unlike his earlier recordings, Rowe deliberately incorporates and layers fragments of classical music and field recordings, creating a starkly intimate and emotionally resonant collage that serves as a career-spanning statement.
