Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the dissolution of Mercyful Fate, King Diamond launched his solo career with this highly theatrical, narratively driven heavy metal debut. The album introduces his signature blend of virtuosic, neoclassical twin-guitar harmonies and chilling, multi-octave falsetto vocals. It establishes a remarkably ominous, paranormal atmosphere steeped in occult mythology and progressive song structures.
