Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking the return of King Diamond after a brief recording hiatus following the dissolution of Mercyful Fate's reunion, 'The Spider's Lullabye' introduces a completely revamped backing band. Unlike many of his purely conceptual earlier works, only the second half of this record follows a continuous narrative thread, focusing intensely on the arachnophobic protagonist Harry. The release maintained his signature falsetto theatrics while adopting a slightly more stripped-down, traditional heavy metal approach.
