Fifth

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Expanding their core trio into a powerhouse quintet for a second time, the Norwegian jazz-rock ensemble delivers a blazing exhibition of progressive, high-energy improvisation. 'Fifth' intertwines virtuosic saxophone runs and explosive guitar solos with the complex synthesizer layers of Ståle Storløkken and the driving acoustic bass of Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. The album is an overwhelmingly intense, highly complex celebration of modern Scandinavian avant-prog.
