Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts
by Kula Shaker
Released as the Britpop movement was sharply declining, the band's bloated sophomore effort doubled down on Eastern mysticism and extravagant, 1960s-inspired psychedelic production. The highly eclectic integration of sitars, brass bands, and choir arrangements yielded a polarizing commercial disappointment that eventually led to their initial disbandment.
