Album Notes & Community Reviews

Compiled primarily from obscure CD-R releases and cassette recordings, the debut album by the Philadelphia singer-songwriter provides the hazy blueprint for his subsequent career. Vile washes classic Americana songwriting and intricate fingerpicking in thick layers of reverb, tape hiss, and drum machine loops, showcasing an incredibly laid-back, stoner-folk aesthetic. It initiated his rapid rise as a leading force in modern independent rock.
