Compiled primarily from early CD-Rs and home recordings made on a boss sampler, this album captures the Philadelphian songwriter in his most intimate, lo-fi state. Stripped of the full-band rock arrangements of his later work, the music focuses heavily on his virtuosic acoustic fingerpicking and hazy, tape-warped vocal delivery. The release highlights his deep roots in American Primitivism and outsider folk.
