Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Harlem rap pioneer fully embraces the mechanized grooves of the Roland TR-808, delivering a critical transitional album for the genre. 'Ego Trip' famously features the massive hits 'Basketball' and '8 Million Stories', heavily integrating electro-funk production and guest appearances from Run-D.M.C. The record successfully bridged his old-school origins with the tougher, drum-machine-heavy mid-school era.
