Album Notes & Community Reviews
The masterful studio guitarist, renowned for his iconic work with Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell, delivered a pristinely recorded instrumental session that perfectly embodies the West Coast fusion sound. Centered around his virtuosic, highly emotive Gibson ES-335 playing, the album seamlessly blends sophisticated jazz improvisation with slick, commercial R&B production. The record helped establish the dominant instrumental template for 1980s smooth jazz.
