Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Sound of Silver', LCD Soundsystem refines its dance-punk formula with a sleeker and more spacious production that layers live instrumentation over insistent electronic rhythms. James Murphy’s songwriting couples his characteristic wit with a newfound emotional directness, exploring themes of aging, loss, and friendship, particularly on the poignant highlights “Someone Great” and “All My Friends”. The album's synthesis of propulsive energy and sharp, introspective lyricism drew widespread critical acclaim, solidifying it as a definitive record of the 2000s.
