Album Notes & Community Reviews
Intended at the time to be their final album, 'This Is Happening' is a sprawling, danceable farewell. James Murphy fine-tunes his formula of building modular synth jams into emotional crescendos. It balances hipster irony with genuine vulnerability, particularly on tracks like 'All My Friends' spiritual successor, 'Home'.
